HackGreenville is a community built by the people who make the Upstate’s tech scene what it is. What started in 2015 as a simple Slack group has grown into one of the most active and welcoming tech networks in South Carolina.

With support from RefactorGVL, HackGreenville has the infrastructure it needs to keep growing while staying community led. That support helps fuel their mission to connect the local tech workforce and make it easier for people to learn, share, and find their place in the industry.

Their work shows up in many ways. A thriving Slack channel with daily conversations. HackGreenville Nights events that bring people together to learn and meet new people. HG Labs, which powers the website and the tools that help people discover local organizations and non commercial tech events.

HackGreenville is all about creating a space where hackers, makers, developers, and tinkerers of every level feel welcome. They value personal growth, inclusivity, respect, and the belief that communities grow stronger when people give more than they take.
